Sand Sculpture Competition with special guest, Karen Fralich (professional Sand Sculptor)
Karen Fralich is a professional multimedia artist whose passion for sculpting led her to a career in sand. It all started in 1994 when a professional sand sculptor hired her as help on a small sand sculpture in a local mall. Karen was immediately hooked and spent the next 4 years learning the rudiments of sand sculpture. In 1998 she entered her first international contest and by 2001 she was working full time.
She has participated in 61 sand sculpting competitions all over the world and won many titles. Karen is a 3-time World Champion among many other international tiles. - Reference: http://www.sandscapes.com/bio_krn.html
Karen will be on-site creating her own sculpture as well as offering advice to our competitors.
July 28th
Ecological sand sculpture day
Join Karen and others to build a giant right whale sculpture or build compete with your own ecological themed creation. This competition will be on-the-spot with a sculpture subject drawn on arrival.
